    WP 4.5.2
    TSF 2.6.0.1
    WOO 2.5.5
    (All latest)

    Hi there –

I’m not sure if this is the ‘Title Fix’ problem from the stickied thread, or a symptom of ‘2.6.0 doesn’t work uninstall’ so thought I’d post here anyway.

When I go to edit a WooCommerce Product Category to check what Title is being automatically defined by TSF I’ll usually see something like “Product Category: (Category Name) – (Site Name)”.

However, the actual Title tag as defined on the page is one of two things:
    1. If there’s no image associated with the Product Category it just says “Untitled – (Site Name)”
    2. If there is an image associated with the Product Category it says “(Image File Name With No Extension) – (Site Name)”. It also puts the image name in the og:title and twitter:title

Lastly, as I investigate further, TSF (or woo?) is setting the canonical URL of the product category as the link to the first product in the category listing.

I’ve updated from an existing install to 2.6.0.1 and went into settings and re-saved them, but that seems to have no effect.

So I guess the questions are:
    1. Is this the problem the Title Fix sticky post is meant to address?
    2. If not(1.) then how can I fix it?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi cdensch,

I see there’s an issue with the title generation on Product Tags and Categories.

I’ll look into it and will push an update as soon as I found the issue’s cause.

Thank you so much for highlighting this issue, I’ve overlooked it.

Thanks a lot Sybre; I swear you’re the hardest-working free plugin author out there.

I can give you links to the pages in question if you’d like to examine the output, but I’d prefer to do so privately because the SEO on the site is rather weak right now, and I’d hate to have the owners Google their own site and turn up WordPress postings about me having trouble with it ??

I can add you on LinkedIn or use any other private contact that you’d prefer.

    Hi cdensch,

There’s no need to send me data, as I’ve found the issue :).

With some themes the WordPress query is called too early, for an unknown reason.

However, I’ve implemented a new “fool proof” function that will correctly determine if we can cache all variables yet.

I’ll thoroughly test it and if I’m happy with the results I’ll release it. It should be out within an hour.

Thank you so much for your kindness and patience, have a wonderful day!

Just closing the circle on this in case it was affecting anyone else, the new update rolled did in fact fix the issue I had reported, and now I have all the new 2.6.0 functionality to play with.

Given the premise of certain themes firing this->post stuff too soon, it is likely my theme Flatsome that was to blame.

    Thanks again Sybre!
