    Hi, thanks for your plugin.

I’m testing a site before launching it, but I’m having this problem:

If I use the “category” taxonomy of “post” in acf fields in a group of fields it does not show in the frontend.

    Best regards,

    Dalia

Hola @helitonafonso creo que en espa?ol nos entendemos mejor, te lo dejare en los dos idiomas. / Hello @helitonafonso I think that in Spanish we understand each other better, I will leave it to you in both languages.

Saludos de República Dominicana / Greetings from Dominican Republic

He creado cinco post types / I have created five post types:

    1. TV Shows
    2. Películas / Movies
    3. Libros / Books
    4. Músicas / Music
    5. Personas / Persons

So in the default WordPress post “post” we have the “category” and “post_tag” taxonomies. I’ve arranged for custom post types I created to be connected to these taxonomies, in addition to any other custom taxonomies I created, but when I try to view “archives” for “category” or “post_tag” it says I don’t have content.

    Thank you,

    Dalia

    Buenas tardes @daliasued .

Sí, podemos ir por ese camino.Por defecto puede funcionar de 2 maneras:

Con el archivo archives_pelicula.php en el servidor y ver si filtra automáticamente. ?Has probado a crear el archivo?

    o

Como una consulta personalizada para este slug y en esta pantalla donde debería mostrarse para ser llamado por plantilla.

    ?Usas alguno de estos formatos?

Si lo usa como una consulta, ?puede publicarlo aquí?

    ——

    Good afternoon @daliasued .

Yes, we can go that way.

By default it can work in 2 ways:

With the archives_pelicula.php file on the server and see if it filters automatically. Have you tried creating the file?

    or

As a custom query for this slug and on this screen where it should display to be called by template.

Do you use one of these formats?

If you use it as a query, can you post it here?

    Hi @helitonafonso

When I created the “groups of fields”, I created a field called “type” that is, for the “categories” please see image, but I didn’t do anything else, that is.

In response to your question, I didn’t touch any ” file” of the “theme”.

This “archives_pelicula.php” the theme does when I created the “post type=peliculas”, I even use a plugin for themes and all the movies are shown, but if I click on “type” it shows nothing.

The connection I want to make is, for example, If I want to make a news article about a movie, I can use the “post” and put it in the movies category, so if I click on the “movies” category, it will show me “movies” and “post”, I hope you understand me hehe.

    TY

    Good afternoon @daliasued

In this case, I believe the address is looking for a category (which is a reserved word by default in WordPress). When I access the address https://woo.melodramaz.com/peliculas/ the archives page is listed.

Is this the address you are looking for?

    Hi @helitonafonso

I’ve moved my site to https://melodramaz.com/category/peliculas/, the other site was a test site and I’m done, just missing this ACF issue. The one called “Listado de Películas” was made with a plugin for the “vertical” effect of the images, but the “archive” effect of the “GeneratePress” theme is “horizontal”.

I can’t see “archives” of “categories” by default of the “posts” with the “post types” I created.

    It says

    Nothing found.
Looks like we couldn’t find what you’re looking for. Maybe a quest can help you.

    Hello @daliasued

I made a test accessing the address https://melodramaz.com/category/libros/ and https://melodramaz.com/category/musica/ which also does not return anything.

What about another address access suggestion? where i said:

“I believe the address is looking for a category (which is a reserved word by default in WordPress). When I access the address https://melodramaz.com/peliculas/ the file listing page appears. This is the address you are looking for ?”

@helitonafonso yes for all the post types I created, before I used another plugin to create post types and if the connection with the taxonomies could be visualized. but in order not to have so many plugins doing the same thing, I stayed only with ACF.

    • TV Shows
    • Películas
    • Músicas
    • Libros
    • Personas

    @daliasued

So I believe that what is happening is precisely a conflict. The previous plugin wrote some rule somewhere (usually in the .htaccess file).

It sounds silly and simple, but one of these friendly URL writing rules usually resolves when you go to “Settings ? Permalinks” and just click on the “Save” button. By doing so, it resets the settings according to the current plugins.

    Can you try this please?

    @daliasued

did you solve the problem with the suggestion above?

    Thread Starter daliasued

    (@daliasued)

    @helitonafonso hello

Sorry, I was in bed with the flu, it can’t be that, because I used the other plugin on another site, not this one, also, I already passed the test site to the original site, I did the test you say, but it still doesn’t work.

The other time the solution was to modify something, but it’s been so long that I don’t remember, and I can’t find it, besides, it won’t work for me, because it was for the other plugin, I’ve searched the ACF documentation, but I can’t find anything.

    Hi @daliasued
