I did try to follow this, but it is over my head. If this is the solution, could someone explain it a bit more simply?

    Hi there,

The simplest way to add excerpts is to manually add a “read more” tag in the editor . The content above the tag will be displayed in the post’s summary.

I’ve created the following screenshot of the editor for you with the “read more” button highlighted. Click on the button to insert the tag:

If you’d prefer to set all of your posts to display a summary by default without manually entering the “read more” tag, then I can help with the needed code. The first step would be for you to set up a child theme:

This route is a little more technical but let me know if you do set up a child theme and would like help.

    Thanks.
