Can someone help me understand the following:

With GeoDirectory is it possible to have 2nd & 3rd level category (sub-category) pages with it’s own category structure.

Something similar to what DMOZ use to have in it’s days.

    Example: DMOZ
Home Page: https://dmoz-odp.org/ (shows main categories)
Sub-Category Page: https://dmoz-odp.org/Business/ (shows list of sub-categories in the desired number of columns)
Listing page: https://dmoz-odp.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Marketing_Services/A/ (shows number of listings within a category)

    My Concerns:
    1. Is it possible to have a display/design like the above (so instead of the map type design I have seen in examples of WPGeoDirectory, where it shows all the listings in top-level categories, it will show a list of sub-categories in the desired number of columns?)

    2. Is such a structure possible with WPGeoDirectory? So for some categories, I may have no sub-category, while for other category I may have up to 4 levels of sub-categories.

    Hi @surfmaster,

You can have multiple sub-level categories, however, the URL slugs won’t nest.
You can use the categories widget/block to only show sub categories of the shown parent cat, so if you have that at the top of the page, the user can still drill down to specific categories.

    1. As stated above, you can have it show the subcategories of the parent cat but it will also show all the listings in that parent cat by default, this will let users browse the listings or drill down further.

    2. Yes, it is possible. Another option you could have is our CPT Manager addon, it can let you separate industries into their own systems, which gives you almost another main level of filtering.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hello @stiofansisland

Assuming I signup for your paid membership plan, where I will have access to all other modules/add-ons you offer.

    1. Do you think it would be possible to do what I want to do? i.e. URL slug ability?

I am considering creating a legal directory. So for example under the ‘Immigration lawyer’ category there will be 50 subcategories (states) & then about 70 sub-categories (cities) under each state category.

So, would be it possible to set up the display, so that the listings will only be visible in the categories they are listed in?
(or all users will be able to see all lawyers in the state of Texas, if they are on domain.com/texas/ page? ?? )`
