Category Start

How do you specify a category in the event shortcode but still allow the user to change the category?
In other words, the list begins with a specific category filtered but doesn’t eliminate the users ability to change the category.
[events orderby=”event_start_date” categories=”concert”] filters the list for Concert but eliminates the category dropdown.
