Hello. I have multiple categories on my site and most behave correctly. However, I have 2 categories, that when clicked, redirect to a post and not to a categories archive…only 2 categories do this. I don’t have custom categories, it is blank/default in the settings. What can I do to fix this? Thank you

    Hey,

Please share the specific category URL so we can test it and help you fix the issue.

The issue is usually fixed when the permalinks cache is cleared by going to WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Permalinks and clicking on the “Save Changes” button.

WordPress will then flush the permalinks cache and generate a new one. Please let me know if this doesn’t resolve the issue so that I can further investigate and resolve it.

What are these problematic categories? That should be basic information to provide!

Thank you for your reply. Flushing did help, and now only one stubborn one is left.

The first one, “Contracts” is working now, and it redirects to the proper category archive. https://www.dentalhygienistsabroad.com/category/contracts/.

The second one, “Immigration” still redirects to a post…no “/category/” in the slug. Here is the link that it redirects to: https://www.dentalhygienistsabroad.com/dental-hygienist-overseas-immigration/

The second one, “Immigration” still redirects to a post…no “/category/” in the slug

The redirection is being done by the Rank Math SEO plugin you’re using.

There’s where you should turn to to stop the unwanted redirection.
