I set up the meta title and description for my category pages on my woocommerce site. If I search for ‘hyglossproducts craft buttons’ then the correct title and description come up.

But if I search for ‘hyglossproducts’ then craft buttons is listed as a result but it not using the meta title and meta description, it is just taking the address from the footer! Why is that?

    Hello @lucytech,

Thanks for reaching out about your product category description. I believe the meta description you entered is what’s showing in the page source:

<meta name="description" content="High quality craft buttons will add pizazz to any project. Hygloss has a wide variety of shapes, colors, sizes for your craft, sorting and counting project." />

This means our plugin is working as expected, but Google chose something irrelevant in the description when it shows in site links. Have you?added your site to Google Search Console? Then, you could?request indexing?so Google can update their index.

thanks, that is correct. The meta description is showing as a result but not in the site links. Are they not both the same google index? Why do they show different text?

Is there a way to influence what shows as a site link?
