Category or Page

How to classify category in wordpress , i created a category called news so that all my news items are displayed in the news category , I have placed a link to the news category on my menu , when i click news on my home page , i get all my news dispalyed in the category but i want to get rid of widgets (i want to get rid of the widgets from the sidebar) as its not a page i can’t do it. please help me out my website url https://www.gizmonext.com
