Category number and permalinks

  • I have searched all day and can’t find a solution. I found some old plugins but they have not been updated for the latest WP version or just don’t work.

    I have about 10 categories on my blog. But the “ID” of the categories can’t be changed in the admin panel.

    I need to change the id of some of the categories because when I assign posts to multiple categories, I can’t get the permalink that I desire.

    I am using “category/postname” as the permalink.

    What can I do?

  • Just to make sure.. in the permalink settings you can use:

    /%category%/%postname%/

    Is that what you have or do you have only the words category/postname.

    Your links in address bar will now say for example:
    poopie.com/blog/this-is-about-how-poopie-i-am
