category name appears on the thumbnail post

Hi,
i have Tortuga theme and I’d like to make small modification:
I want to add a rectangle with category name on thumbnail of post. When user click on this, he/she will be send to this category. One post-one category. I have no ideal i should I do this and start. If you can help me I’d be grateful.
