Category list with images

I’m running the Category Icons plugin and would like each image to appear next to the correct category in my sidebar. The option I was going to use from the plugin was as follows:

<?php get_cat_icon(‘small=true’); ?>

But i need to have the category next to it. Is there a way I can do this?
