Category link doesnt work – after change of name and slug

    I changed woo product category name and slug, when i wanted to look at it in front end there was no such category on that link. At first there was a link to that category, but in loading proces this new slug changed to old one and pege returned non existing page.

    Did anyone experienced this?

    After changing the category name and slug try re-saving your sites link structure by visiting WordPress Admin > Settings > Permalinks to see if that helps with this.

    You don’t need to change any settings on the Permalinks page ane merely click the save button at the bottom of that settings page. Let us know if that resolves this for you!

    Thanks for confirming re-saving the permalinks did not work for you!

    I’ve performed some cross-testing for us today on several of my sites which have the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and our free Storefront theme as the only enabled software to gain some comparison results. When doing so I’ve not been able to replicate the behaviour which you describe after changing several of my sites product category names and slugs.

    It could be some code a plugin or theme on your site which is somehow preventing your site’s permalinks from working after changes have been made.

    It could be another plugin or some code in your theme is causing a conflict of some kind with WooCommerce and causing you to experience this behaviour which is isolated to your site. Firstly make sure all your plugins and theme are up to date.

    I would also suggest carrying out a conflict test on your site by deactivating all plugins leaving WooCommerce as the only activated plugin. Also changing theme to a theme like our free Storefront will test to see if this is the case

    Once the site is in this configuration of the behaviour is resolved you can then enable your plugins one by one until the behaviour returns to reveal the culprit.

    If you haven’t carried out this type of testing on your site it’s what we would recommend when you experience behaviour which is not displaying on another install when cross-tested.

    Yes sorry for not replying to you. I resolved it – yoast seo plugin was creating redirects after category removal – so when I created new one or renamed it yoast created redirect to non existing category.

    So now it is working just fine – I just deleted those redirects.
