Currently you can only select from available category icons, it’s not possible to upload yours.

Ghost test – Can I have a placeholder in the description box. For example a user will see “write your description here” then when they click on the box the placeholder disappears?

1. it should be possible to add code in wp-admin when editing categories that will allow to upload new images (you can see how to hook into this in wpadverts/includes/admin-pages.php).

However, displaying the custom icons in the frontend will require some changes in the categories template files (wpadverts/templates/).

2. I understand you mean the text editor field? If so then i do not think it supports placeholders / ghost texts.
