Category Icon

  • Hi, I’m using Ivan Georgiev’s “Category Icon” plugin from the Codex, and I’m running into some newbie problems.

    Supposedly this plugin is much more user-friendly than some of the previous Category Icon plugins, where you used to have to go in and make sure each of your icons is in the right directory and had the same filename as the category they were linked to.

    On this plugin, the instructions say to just activate it, and then assign each category to an icon that is uploaded somewhere on your site. For some reason, when I activate the plugin, and go to the “Manage” section of the Options menu for the plugin, it is not seeing any of my jpg files.

    I put them in wp-content/uploads/ which is also the place where my Settings say all posted uploads from users go to…

    I’m thinking that maybe I need to either have these JPG images set up as different filenames, or maybe just have them in a different place on the server, but I have no idea where else this particular plugin would prefer them.

    Does anyone have any experience with this?

    I’m wondering if this plugin, or most plugins like it (that create associate pics for it) might require some sort of “ICON” folder specified in the plugin code itself. I’ve opened up the plugin code and I can’t seem to find any sort of filepath in there. Would it help if I posted the code here?
