I have a big issue when multiposting between blogs, the categories on the site that gets multiposted to loses its hierarchy.

Category structure on Site 1 (multiposter) and Site 2 (multipostied) are identical ex:
    Site 1:
    Parent category
    – Child category 1
    – Child category 2

    Site 2:
    Parent category
    – Child category 1
    – Child category 2

When creating a new post, I have “Link this post to its children”, “Custom fields” and “Taxonomies” checked. I pick categories “Parent category” and “Child category 1”

When I check Site 2 Posts > Categories, it now looks like this
    Site 2:
    Child category 1
    Parent category
    – Child category 2

The child categories “loses” their parent, is there a setting I’ve missed or is it simply that the ThreeWP Broadcast can’t handle multiposting the hierarchy along with the category?

BC has been broadcasting taxonomy hierarchies for quite a while.

You’re the first person in quite a while I’ve heard say anything bad about the handling of taxonomy hierarchies.

I suggest making a debug dump and then pasting it somewhere so we can look at it.

I take it the Yoga terms are not correct?

Do the slugs match up exactly between the two blogs?

    (@lealian)

There were one/two categories that differed in terms but even the many categories that have the exact same term still ends up updating and losing their hierarchy

Indeed. Same term, but the same slug? That’s how Broadcast figures out which categories are equivalent: using the slug.

Something you can try and do it so delete the categories from the child blog and then rebroadcasting, which will create the new cats exactly how they are on the parent blog.

If that doesn’t work, then please e-mail me so that I can send you a version of Broadcast with even more debug info, so that I can see how the terms are set up on the blogs.

Same name, term, slug (everything I can think of), I have even tried removing all posts and categories from Site 2 and importing a fresh copy from Site 1 but still no luck.

This error was caused by two plugins: Varnish Purge HTTP and Restrict Categories.

Therefore not a Broadcast problem. ??
