Category HELP!

  • Hi, I’m not sure if this is the correct place to put this but if not perhaps someone could point me in the right place.

    On my site I would like to have one category which can have 2 or more parents so the same category shows up the same in different menus on my woocoms shop. Or if I can somehow mirror one in a different category. I’m not sure if Im explaining myself well but hopefully you get what I mean.

    If you go to my site on a desktop computer you will see the main menu… If you put the mouse over “First Person View” you can see a drop down of different categorys… The one saying “Propellers” for instance I world like a mirror of that to also show in another category… This making any scene lol?

    I think you want a polyhierarchical classification system.

    WooCommerce is not like this.

    You could put the same category link in two or more menus if you are setting them up manually. As long as your taxonomy is not too big and doesn’t change too often that should be practical.

    The breadcrumb can show only one trail though. And its not going to work automatically in your product categories widget. You’d have to make a category list in a text widget and update it manually when necessary.

    Just a thought can you make a category turn into a link?

    If you go to Admin page > WooCommerce > Settings > Display tab and set Shop page display = show categories and subcategories, you can click your shop page items to get the urls for each category. The exact format will depend on whatever permalink type you have set.
