Category filters not working properly

Hi John,

I did some tests on your page and couldn’t reproduce the case that “they often don’t show all the images that should be in that category”.
In the moment I see you have 4 images in “Special topic” and 2 in “Nature”.
When I use just use “Special topic” it shows 4 images of “Special topic” like expected:

When I add “Nature” it shows also the nature images also. So all 6 images then:

Could you tell me the combination or how I exactly can reproduce the case that images of some category are not displayed?

Thanks for the quick response. The issue happens if I click only ‘Realism’: No images appears.

Also, I uploaded a total of 8 images to Contest Gallery, but only 6 seem to be showing up.

I clicked through all your images and can’t find an image with Category realism.
When you click on image there will be an URL generated. Please send me the URL of the image with the Category realism if I overseen this.

Now I see why these two images aren’t showing up: they both have the category ‘Other’.

I was certain I had assigned both to the category ‘Special Topic’. I do recall I had problems with some images getting the category to ‘stick’, but I don’t recall the details. How can I change these? How do I get ‘Other’ to appear if not (in the Settings?).

A little more explanation of my prior message: If I open the Contest Gallery page with these images, all the images are initially visible, even the ‘Other’ images. But as soon as I use a filter (i.e., uncheck one of the Categories), then only one or more of the 4 designated categories are visible, i.e., just a maximum of 6 images rather than 8. Turning all the filter check boxes back on doesn’t return all 8; I have to reload the page to get all of them back.

Also, separate question/topic: It would be useful if Contest Gallery could show the Caption or Title embedded in the image metadata, and potentially some of the other image metadata. And a question from my original post: Is there a way to see all of the images with the categories assigned? The categories don’t show up in the Gallery, for example. I assume they’re kept in the Contest Gallery database, correct?

I got it out.
The problem happens when some of the categories are unchecked in the backend:

Then first time all appears. But when you start check uncheck categories the one that are unchecked in the backend does not appear.

It will be resolved in next update.

When you click this icons you can insert the orginal meta data description, excerpt or title:

Update for right behaviour if one of the checkboxes is unchecked is comming soon. Next days should be out.
