Category feeds not working in 2.7

This has been bugging me all day. Having the same problem with our feeds on https://www.uxbooth.com/. We group categories together in various feeds, but they all redirect to one category or the other.

ie: https://www.uxbooth.com/index.php?feed=rss2&cat=11,cat=12

Redirects to: https://www.uxbooth.com/view/reviews/feed/

Category 11 is “Reviews”. So it’s only showing posts in the feed from this category rather than from both cats 11 and 12.

It always uses the first category stated. This worked prior to updating to 2.7 (from 2.63).

Having problems here too. Just upgraded today to 2.7 on the site where I publicize a category feed. The cat feed defaults to the main feed.

Is there a bug or new URL language we should be aware of? BTW, the URL I was using was https://www.tampablab.com/wp-feed.php?cat=5

I am having the same problem. My category feed URL gets redirected to to the main feed URL. Please help!

Wow. It always amazes me how people try such crazy things to make feed URLs.

1. If you’re using non-default permalinks, feed url’s can be made by simply appending /feed/ to the URL:
https://example.com/category/test/feed/

2. If you’re using default permalinks, feed url’s can be made by appending feed=rss2 to the query string:
https://example.com/?cat=5&feed=rss2

That’s the only trick to it. This works on all pages, on all WordPress sites. It’s been the correct way since WordPress 2.0, and it has not changed at all in that time period.

If you’re doing this in a theme or template, WordPress can generate these for you and will display the correct one based on your current permalinks. Look in the link-template.php file to find all these functions: get_category_feed_link, get_author_feed_link, get_tag_feed_link, and more.

This is what I did to fix this problem…

1. Open wp-config.php
2. Remove any spaces after “?>” at the very end of the document.

For some reason that worked for me. It took some time for Feed Burner to register the change, but the FireFox RSS reader registered the change instantly.

category only shows with title removing spaces does not fix the problem? the categories show up in the full feed, but I would like to have visitors subscribe to certian sections)categories) on my blog. what is wrong with this?

The following blog post instructs people to add category feed links to the header.php – is this person correct? https://lorelle.wordpress.com/2007/01/24/understanding-using-and-customizing-wordpress-blog-feeds/

I added the links, but not sure I needed to. Perhaps she is referring to WordPress.com?
