Category Display Question!!

  • Hello WordPress,

    I hope this is a common problem, but I can’t seem to find the answer.

    I want to display my categories at the top of my page (so it looks like the pages display). Essentially I want categories with the display of pages or pages with the functionality of categories.

    Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • Why would you need categories “with the display of Pages”? Just list your categories as you would list your Pages and use the same styling.

    I would love to see that too.

    If it could be somehow implemented with dtabs treeview, it would rock for me. Ex. pages on the top, click on page and a tree with posts is displayed.

    wrong approach: Pages are not for displaying posts. Period.

    I don’t understand all this craziness about forcing Pages to display posts from a category. Use the category list instead of the Pages list and WP does the rest!

    No worries. The more the merrier. Moshu, I think I may be missing something fundamental here. I’m note writing the code for the page’s theme from scratch. I guess I’m looking for a plugin or something else that could do it a bit easier. If it is that easy, please tell me how! Thanks!!

    Yes, that’s what I was saying: PUT IT UP wherever you want it and style it as you wish via the style.css. That is how the Pages list is done as a “menu”, otherwise it also would be listed in the sidebar (check out the default and the classic theme – both have the Pages list in the sidebar, exactly as the categories list). What is so complicated in this?
