Category Deleted but RSS Feed still exists

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

This old feed exists :- latestjobsingovt.com/state-govt-jobs/meghalaya/feed/ even when I deleted category – “/state-govt-jobs/”

and used 301 redirect for latestjobsingovt.com/state-govt-jobs/meghalaya/ to point to latestjobsingovt.com/meghalaya/ which is working fine.

Problem is, now two separate feeds exist one for the previous link :-

latestjobsingovt.com/state-govt-jobs/meghalaya/feed/
& and one for new feed :-

latestjobsingovt.com/meghalaya/feed/

Although I can redirect all the feeds but I want to get rid of old feeds that causes errors as per webmaster tool. Plz help.

The file at that url (latestjobsingovt.com/state-govt-jobs/meghalaya/feed/) is a Google sitemap – not an RSS feed!

How can I get rid of this rss feed, I tried rebuilding rss/ removing sitemap plugin and then re-activating/ used Rss cache cleaner/ wp cache cleaner but nothing helped.

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I’ll try deleting inactive plugins to see if it helps ..

My Problem is finally solved , it was caused due to Plugin named “Permalink Finder” which was keeping the old copy of sitemap to show for any moved feed. Disabling it solved the issue.

Thanx Esmi your suggestion for disabling plugins one by one, worked although it took many days, but I am relieved now.
