    Hi,

the plugin looks like great ??

i want try to change my “directories pro directory” with “geodirectory”.

I have export my existing categories with cat_id,cat_name,cat_slug,cat_posttype.

Problem is that the cat_id will not imported if i import the categories. I have a lot of listings and multiple categories.

Now if I import the listings with the existing cat_ids these are not assigned becausegeodirectory or wordpress create new cat_id’s for new categories.

what can i do know. I can’t do that with hand because i have a lot of listings.

    best regards

    Hi @hasel29,

unfortunately WP doesn’t let you import IDs of anything.

The right way would be to import the categories and take note of the new IDs. Then use the search and replace option of the software used to edit the main CSV file, to change the cat_ids of all listings.

    10 categories = 10 search and replaces.

It takes a little work, but it’s simpler to do than what it sounds.

Otherwise you could try to change the category IDs directly on the DB via PHP admin to match the original IDs, but if WordPress already assigned one of those IDs to a page or post, then things will get tricky.

Let me know how it goes,
