    I found the problem. Under Options, the “Enable event categories?” was turned to “No”. Perhaps this was a change with the upgrade.

    In my tests the setting of “Enable event categories” did not change during a plugin upgrade. What version were you upgrading from?

    It would have been the immediately previous version. I stay up to date with my versions.
