    Hello!

It looks like category classes are not being added to posts that have been published in the past (meaning that they are already published). Is that a feature or a bug? ??

It seems like it could be left up to the user if they wanted to style post.publish.my-category differently from post.my-category.

Is there a php snippet that could be added to change this behaviour to what I am expecting?

    This is a wonderful plugin!

  • Hello @bhkh,

Having the CSS class for the categories for unpublished posts would be a good change. I’ve added that in the 3.7.12 release of the calendar which was just published.

    Thanks,
    Zack

Oh my gosh that was fast!

    Thanks!

I’m not sure this is worth making another post for, so I’ll just mention it here. I think I read somewhere that you intentionally disabled the drag and drop of published posts because it may cause problems with rss feeds. My $.02 is that WP already allows you to do this through the regular page interface. So not being able to do it in the calendar just adds an extra step for someone who is going to do it any way. Just a thought.

Also, I wonder if you would consider having something like New | Quick New in the same way you have edit and quick edit. My post creation is much more complicated than what can be done in a simple editor, so for my use case the current interface would never be useful. However being able to create a post for a specific date would be handy.

Any way, thanks so much for this plugin. It really makes the project I’m doing much, much easier.

In a very early version I did allow moving posts which were already published, but it was confusing for a lot of people. There were accidental drag and drops and when people did it on purpose the calendar didn’t behave the way they expected because the semantics in WordPress around changing the dates for published posts are complex. In the end I decided that it would make the calendar simpler and easier to use without moving published posts.

Have a feature to add a new post to a specific date with the full WordPress post editor would be a nice feature, but WordPress doesn’t support that. There’s no way to send you to the new post editor with the post date set. I would have to create a new empty post on that date which would mean creating something in the WordPress database. For now the closest you can get is to create a new post in the calendar, just set the title, save it, and then go to the full editor for that post.

So interesting! You certainly have succeeded in making the plugin usable.

Ah, that would explain why the plugins that did a similar thing pre-Gutenberg no longer work.

I’m really impressed with what you have achieved. Thanks again.
