Category checkboxes not working correctly in Edit Post screen in IE8

    I admin a WordPress site for my team at work. A couple months ago the category checkboxes in the Edit Post screen starting acting wonky in IE8 (most on my team use, unfortunately). When you click on the box, it doesn’t show checked. If published the categories aren’t saved to the post either. After Googling for some time, I couldn’t find any similar issues. Anyone else run across this?. What’s the resolution (besides making everybody use Firefox)?

    Follow up: Resolved the issue. I have Advanced Custom Fields plugin installed. I disabled this plugin and had the same issue; however, I saw the release notes for the latest version. They reported this bug in the plugin, which was causing this. I updated to the latest version, and now all’s well again.
