We’ve been using Yoast SEO plugin for years without any trouble. However just today I noticed a weird thing happening with breadcrumbs:

All posts with a specific category set as primary category aren’t having the category name displayed in the breadcrumbs.

When I choose a different category for the same post, it’s displayed without any issue. When I set the previous category back as primary, it’s not being displayed again.

All settings (incl. the breadcrumb name setting) for the category have remained the same for years, only now it has started to not be shown.

I tried re-saving the post and the category. I tried with more posts. I tried changing the category settings. I looked through the database. I looked through my theme source code to find if there’s any “yoast breadcrumb conflicts”. All settings seems fine.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

Yoast and WordPress versions are up to date on the site. The category in question is the biggest (in terms of posts assigned) on our website, however it’s just about 3k posts, which shouldn’t be too much I reckon.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Seems like the problem was solved by updating WordPress, then updating Yoast and then creating and running a custom script that went through thousands of our articles to re-save them all.
