Category Blog Post Link Appearance

Hi! I edited my home page with Elementor, but it is not allowing me to use other plugins to customize the appearance of my blog links. I am having trouble making them look good. I added them to the page with MTS Category Posts and MTS Recent Posts. Currently they are too small and busy, but the biggest issue is that only some are using the summary text while others are using the first words of the post. I can’t figure out why it is doing this because I’ve made sure they had summaries, but it still doesn’t use that information. When I remove the excerpts all together the alignment of the thumbnails and titles goes askew.
Is there a way to make my blog links look better and use only the post summaries for excerpts?
