Category based two-tiered horizontal navigation

  • I’ve been looking all over the web for an answer to this, and there are a few limited topics started here already that aren’t in-depth enough.

    I am trying to build a two-tiered horizontal navigation menu, much like Darren Hoyt’s pages menu here:

    This, however, doesn’t work for categories.
    Any tips?
