category base not working properly

We understand you’ve used the remove /categories/ prefix feature in the Yoast SEO plugin – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-remove-the-categories-prefix/

But that it isn’t working as expected.

Upon checking https://www.fresherstech.com/category/govt-jobs-in-delhi/, we see that the /category/ part of the URL isn’t stripped and it loads as expected, but when we try and load https://www.fresherstech.com/govt-jobs-in-delhi/, it shows as a 404.

Could you check what you currently have set as your WordPress permalinks?

Also, often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
