    Yoast SEO can turn off the ‘category/ part of the URL. It’s on one of the many options tabs for that plugin.

    I clicked everywhere and don’t see any permalink options in SEO Yoast. I actually think they removed this in their newer releases.

    SEO -> SEARCH APPEARANCE -> TAXONOMIES -> scroll way down to CATEGORIES URL

    THANK YOU> I just deactivated Yoast (I use Squirrly anyway and love it), and my category link problems are gone! 5**** certainly!
