Category Archives Pagination Issue

I have permalinks set to “/%category%/%postname%/”.

When I navigate to myURL.com/articles/ to view all of my posts in the category “Articles”,the first page of posts will appear. If I click “Previous Entries”, I get a 404 and the URL changes to myURL.com/uncategorized/page/

However, if I go to myURL.com/category/articles/ everything works fine and going to the next page of results works. But all of my category links are in the format myURL.com/articles/ so I need it to work this way.
