Category archive fails to display posts in some categories

  • Hi Everyone,

    I have an installation of WP that has been running successfully for a couple of years, it started as V2.8 and has been upgraded a couple of times to 3.0.1.

    Just recently when following links to category archives ( bottom section in right hand sidebar) not all archives that have posts associated with them are being displayed.

    Try “Making and Selling”, “Science and Ecconomy” for examples.

    There are 29 categories with posts and only 15 category archives display the list of posts associated.

    I have a custom theme and I have included the source for the category.php template in pastebin:

    I have looked at the database relationships between terms and posts for both scenarios i.e. when a post in a category is displayed successfully and when a post in a ‘failing’ category doesn’t display and I can’t find any differing patterns.

    I am a bit stumped on this one and would really appreciate some assistance.
