categorised upcoming events

Hi everyone.

I would like to have proximate upcoming event dates and the events’ descriptions, for different categories, listed on the respective categories’ ‘homepages’ of my site.

So, for example, on page 1 (let’s call it dogs), I want to have a list present displaying the soonest-occurring events to do with dogs. On my ‘cats’ page I want a list of the soonest-occurring events related to cats, and so on.

I would like the lists in chronological order in a format somewhat like this:

date: short description
date: short description
date: short description

you get the idea.

Does anyone know of a plugin that can show categorised events something like this?
