Categories Taxonomy – Superfluous structure (/category/)
-
Scenario: You want blog & post permalink structure like this.
https://www.site.com/blog/
https://www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/
https://www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/a-post-title/To do this you set your “Custom structure” under settings -> permalinks to
“/blog/%category%/%postname%/”
You leave your Settings -> Optional -> “Category base” blank, and you will get the desired results above.
Issue: NAVxt adds superfluous /category/ permalink to link structure on single posts pages
On single posts ie. (www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/a-post-title/)
The breadcrumb CATEGORY link has an extra “/category/” string pre-pended to it, so the link to the category is output as follows
https://www.site.com/blog/category/a-category-name/
This is incorrect, based off your permalink settings, it should simply be.
https://www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/
I can’t be the only one to have noticed this?
Any chance of getting this fixed asap?
