    Hi Ravan,

I make some tests to use both XML sitemap and Google News site map functions of your plugin. (if you remenber my main sitemap was managed by all in one seo)

First question: I want my categories to be indexed in google, so in the setting i checked “include taxonomies” and all my categories.

However, there is a problem, because they are not listed in the sitemap: see: https://www.neoproduits.com/sitemap.xml : what should i do ?

Second question: does the plugin limits automatically the number of reommanded pages (max 50000 pages).

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon

    Yvan

Yes it does, but you’ll probably run into server/PHP memory issues long before you reach 50k posts in one sitemap.

You currently have “Split by: Year” for posts on Settings > XML Sitemap which means one sitemap will only hold one year worth of posts. But if you start publishing more that 2k posts per year, you should consider setting “Split by: Month” to prevent slow sitemaps or memory errors (blank sitemap).

    Hi Ravan,

Thanks for the complement of information. I publish two articles per day, so it means 520 more/less articles per year. So i should be really far from this limit.> can i keep year settings in my scenario ?

What do you mean when you say: “XML Sitemap which means one sitemap will only hold one year worth of posts.” > my previsous years articles will still be indexed in Google i hope ??

    Have a nice day

can i keep year settings in my scenario ?

Sure ?? unless you notice slow sitemaps, but that would surprise me…

my previsous years articles will still be indexed in Google i hope ??

Yes, if you have the setting “Split by: Year” then each year will have one sitemap holding all posts from that year.

    Hi Ravan,

Thanks for these answers! I got a question which concerns Google news indexing, if you do not minde to help me.

Concerning the Google news sitemap, when i look into Google Search Console, i got two articles from 18/05/2020 which “have been explored but not indexed”.

Do you know how google news works ? does it choose to index some articles and others not ?

My site has been approved in Google news, i set microdatas, google news sitemap, so i do not see why they have not been indexed. It is a big mystery for me…

Looking forward to hearing from you ??

Do you know how google news works ?

You can check if any posts of your site are indexed either via your Publisher Center account (there is a link on the Verify and Publish tab, under Test your Publication) or go to google.com then type in “site:www.neoproduits.com” (without the quotes) hit enter and then open the News tab.

does it choose to index some articles and others not ?

Yes, Google News decides what it indexes and what not and it’s not prepared to tell you why or on what grounds. Just like the search engine algorithm, this it top secret and closed source :/ …

Hi Ravanh, all my concerned articles are published on googe news, which means that your sitemap is really efficient!

Thanks a lot for all these information znd for your good support

I am going to write to good review for your plugin ??
