Categories stopped working in WP 5.8.3

    `Since the update to WordPress 5.8.3, my news items no longer appear. I have determined that it is the category=”xxx” parameter that is causing the problem as in:

    [sp_news grid=”2″ category=”BlogNews”]

    If I remove that parameter, they appear, but obviously, all categories. This was fine in WP 5.8.2.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching here…

    You are passing the category name in the “category” parameter this is wrong please pass the category id in the “category” parameter.

    Please try the below shortcode on your page.
    [sp_news grid="2" category="please pass your category id"]

    Please follow to below screenshot and find your category id.

    Thanks Ketan. Yes, that fixed it. To be honest, I thought it required the category id, but for the last 2 years, it worked with the name “BlogNews”. Did you change your db query ??
