    Hello there,

I’m creating a membership writing community site, and I’ve used Categories to create “pages” for posts tagged with “Blog Posts” and a feed for recent story postings with the category “Story-Feed”. I added the categories to my navigation menu so that when a user clicked on it, the link would take them to the url: “mysite.com/BLOG-POSTS” or “mysite.com/STORY-FEED”, and up until yesterday or the day before it was working perfectly fine.

Then I happened to click on the “Blog Posts” menu option…and I get a blank page saying “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

I have no idea why it stopped working. The same goes for my category “Story Feed”. As I said, this is a membership site so in order to view the Story Feed, you have to be logged into the site. The Blog, however, is opened to the public. I’m using the Ultimate Member Plugin to build the membership, and I’ve checked and re-checked my permissions for these categories on both my Menu and the actual Categories directory, and everything is set up appropriately. It was working perfectly fine before, even with the membership restrictions, so I don’t know how nor why it would suddenly stop working :/

EDIT: I actually just discovered that NONE of my Categories and Tags are working for my posts >_< They all show the same “Nothing can be found” page.

I haven’t changed anything to the permalinks for the categories or anything on the actual posts. The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed the Toolset Types plugin to create some custom taxonomies, but I only created new taxonomies and haven’t touched the categories; plus, the Categories taxonomy still shows up in my Dashboard, just as before, and contains all of my categories that I’d created way before installing the new plugin (meaning I don’t see how the new plugin affected the Categories).

I only happened to notice my Category pages weren’t working by chance clicking on them in my menu, so I don’t know the exact time they stopped working. Please, I’ve searched through Google trying to figure out the problem, but to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Also, I tried goign directly to one of the posts on the front end and clicking on the category via the “Posted In” option, and the same problem persists :/ So the category is definitely linked to the post in that it’s showing up on the post, it’s just when you click on the category itself, nothing is showing up.

resolved: Alas, it was the Toolset Types plugin. I have no idea why it’s messing up my categories, so I shall have to ask Support from it’s developer’s page.

Help for this thread no longer needed.

    UNRESOLVED Hello, I’m back.

I’d marked this as “resolved” because I discovered that once I uninstalled the Toolset plugin, my WP Categories and Tags started working again. So I decided to just delete the plugin and find another one that wouldn’t mess up the WP pre-installed taxonomies.
But I found that the other plugins did not compare in functionality to Toolset, and I really want to continue using this plugin; as such, I’m re-marking this topic as UNRESOLVED, and if anyone can help me figure out how to fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I have the same issue. But different cause of this error.
I used the theme “Travelfy” then changed to another one “Writee”
The menu drop down using categories and the pages that pulled the posts marked with categories worked on the first theme. But this set up doesn’t work on the new theme. In fact even if I click on any category indicated in the post – I’m getting the blank page with error message, that the page has been removed.

I tried to add new posts and new categories, but seems not to work.

Would appreciate the advise on what went wrong.
    Thank you,
    Victoria
