Categories not showing up on my blog

    I recently installed WP with no problems and now I’m in the process of setting up categories. So I go to the Manage portion of my Admin, set up a few categories and they show up in the list with ID#’s and all. No problem. Or so I thought. WHen I go check out my blog the categories aren’t showing up on the list and when I try even changing cat=1 to cat=2 in my URL, it just comes up as Not Found. Only the Uncategorized category (ID #1) appears. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Do I need to set some setting to allow the category to publish like I would a post?

  • Try putting a post in one of the categories and see if it shows up then.

    I just figured out where I goofed. Turns out you need to have one post in order to actually display a category. My bad on that one but I never saw that in the instructions.
