Categories Index on a Separate page

  • Is anyone aware of a template that displays the index of categories on a single stand alone page instead of the sidebar.

    I want to display categories in blocks followed by a few columns of sub-categories — something like this:

    Category 1

    Sub 1 | Sub 2 | Sub 3

    Category 2

    Sub 1 | Sub 2 | Sub 3

    Category 3

    Sub 1 | Sub 2 | Sub 3

  • One way to do this is to create a Page Template (you can copy your “page.php” into the template). Using the List Categories code, write your list into the template. Then, create a “page” in WP and choose the template you just created.
