Categories have gone missing

  • Hello,

    Last night I setup around 15 categories which also respond to menu items under WordPress 3.1.3.

    These categories existed last night but no longer exist. All existing articles come under Uncategorized.

    The Dashboard shows:
    Content
    4 Posts
    2 Pages
    15 Categories
    37 Tags

    Theme Magazine Basic.

    However, as I go to Posts -> Categories, the list is empty.
    This has resulted in the articles on the website not appearing under their relevant menu page.

    Please advise.

  • I only had two or three categories… same thing has happened to me.

    my most used categories still shows up under “Most Used” on the add post page, and it still posts, but shows up as uncategorized on the site… and with that category checked off, under “Most Used” if I edit the post. There are no categories showing under “Categories”
