• Heya. I’ve updated couple of blogs so far, two of them where v2.1 – those two blogs lost their categories.

When I go under Manage > Categories im shown blank names, cant edit them, cant do anything except delete them.

On the index page the categories in the sidebar are gone as well. Some of the links in the bloggroll are gone as well.

    Everything works as normal tho.

  • I am having the same problem, except I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.6.

    Same here as well.

No categories, but it tells me how many posts I have in each one but everything is blank.

Does anyone from WordPress actually read this forum?

This problem is ruining all my blogs.

One fix that you can use untill a new wordpress version comes out, wordpressuser1970, is to restore the blog of yours with the backup that you’ve took before you did the upgrade and then upgrade you old blog to v 2.5, then to 2.6.

Upgrading from 2.5 to 2.6 does seem to work with out a problem.

    Good luck mate.

Sounds to me that the problem is with the db – try going through phpmyadmin and do a repair db on all tables.

I’ve gone back to 2.3.3 for now and all my categories are back ( after restoring my DB on the server ).

I’ll upgrade to 2.5 then to 2.6 and see what happens, and then I’ll give you an update.

I went straight from 2.3.3 to 2.6 and my categories are still there.

I’ve done it to all my blogs that were messed up, so I’m happy again. ??
