I just upgraded to version 3.0.1 & noticed when I write a blog the categories & tag sections are now missing in the posting/dashboard area!

I did create a custom theme because I needed the blog to fit a small iFrame, but I don’t recall doing anything that would change the categories & I made those changes a long time ago. Its run fine on previous versions.

I also noted that in the Appearance> Menus area I am getting an error message that reads:

“The current theme does not natively support menus, but you can use the “Custom Menu” widget to add any menus you create here to the theme’s sidebar.”

I suspect this may be related? If anyone has a solution I’d really appreciate it! I’m still pretty new to WordPress & keep racking my brain on this.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can sometimes interfere with the admin panel).

I deactivated all the plug-ins, posted a new blog, then re-activated the plug-ins & that seems to have worked. Thank you so much!

    You’re welcome!

I’m having the same problem. When I installed WP, I immediately upgraded to 3.0.1 before starting my two separate blogs a few days ago. Everything was working fine until this morning I discovered all my categories are gone on both blogs. I’m using different themes on each blog.

I tried to deactivate all my plugins but the categories are still missing. Appreciate your help very much!

p/s Msilushn, may I know did all your missing categories reappeared, or you had to re-post them? Thank you.
