  • not sure what you mean. The website is showing products, but you don’t seem to have any other languages set. Did you add other languages to your website in your Dashboard Settings->Languages?

If so you also need to add a language switcher (widget or menu) in your header on your page so that one can switch languages.

You are right, i was missing something. actually i was hiding the lang selector at this stage. but i couldnt find how to translate PRODUCTS. i mean, in Product page, if you wait a few seconds, the ‘Upload to Lingotek’ appears when hovering the product, but it feels like nothing happens from there. so probably the question needs to be asked is HOW DO I TRANSLATE PRODUCTS? i know how to translate pages or posts, but not products. even in https://polylang.wordpress.com/documentation/ there is no info regards this.

    Thank you..

Are you using the woocomerce plugin for your products or a theme?

Your products are custom posts? On your dashboard products summary table page are you able to see the languages on the RHS of your table (see this screen shot from one of my sites).

If you see no flag, that means there is something wrong with your theme/plugins, however edit one of the products and see if you have the corresponding translation shortcuts to the right of the edit screen.

If you see only 1 flag then you need to add more languages.

Else, if the flags are there, you just click of the ‘+’ links under that language to create a new product and translate it.

PS: If you are using a lot of product images/galleries you can also make use of the MLA plugin which beautifully integrates with Polylang for media translation, automatically translating media when you translate posts.

I am using Woocommerce. I see the flag mark of lang select on top bar, but cannot assign product to language or language to product… the + doesnt have any option to add products, just posts etc.

no, you actually have to create a new product for each language. You do this by clicking the ‘+’ link on the product table.

For example if you have ‘Ladies shoe’ as a product post. You click the ‘+’ sign for that product post and it will create a new product post in that language, give the translated title for the product (for example in French it would be ‘Chaussures pour femme’) and you attach the same (translated) feature image media to this post and publish it.

When someone visits your site, they can select the product, switching the language will get WP to request the translated post in the database.
