• Hi,
after upgrading to wordpress 3.2 the categories and user-listing in backend doesnt work anymore.
in the post-listing, the only thing i can see is the default category for each post and the authorname, when it was me (posts from other people dont show an author.

    does anyone have similar problems?
I deactivated all plugins and activated the default theme, but doesn’t work as well.

    kind regards
    fabs

  • Yes, I’m having a similar problem : all of my posts are gone when logged into the admin area… shows 0 posts. Plus, I can’t add new posts.

I’ve done clean install via FTP, used twenty eleven theme, deactivated all plugins and nothing is working. Would love it if there was a link to download 3.1.x.

I am having a similar problem; after upgrading to 3.2.1, Categories disappeared in the back-end. Some categories show on the home page, and they appear to still be in the database which I can see using phpMyAdmin. No idea what to do. Can anyone help?

i had some database problems, that were fixed by https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/de/repair-table.html

I had this problem. I fixed it by disabling the “Category Visibility-iPeat Rev” plugin.

For those who may happen to stumble upon this thread later on, I ended up fixing the problem I described above! Here’s how.

First I noticed that phpMyAdmin was acting very strangely / not working, which tipped me off that something might be up with the database. So I contacted my hosting provider and asked them to look into it. Here is the response I got:

“the error you get was cause by no tmp disk space, you had a lot of mysql cache and session files, we made the new space 4GB instead of 400MB and you should be okay now.”

As soon as they did that, all my categories and tags came back and everything was fine.

Upon further investigation, we hypothesized that the reason the tmp disk space was full is because of WP Super Cache. Disabling WP Super Cache plugin before upgrading probably would’ve helped us avoid this problem at all.

Hi, we had similar issues to those discussed above when using WP Super Cache. We removed the plugin, and the problems went away.

Our host recently recommended that we use a caching plugin again. I told them about the issues that we had previously had and asked about if those could be solved by increasing the disk space for temporary files, and they said no because the plugin is not using server side caching, so the size of the directory allocated for cache files would not be a source of the problems. Does anyone know if that’s accurate advice?

    Thanks!

I’m scooting my question over to the WP Super Cache section of the forum, which is probably a better place for it: apologies for the double post!
