categories and subcategories bulk upload

  • sorry, im sure there was some descission about it, but i didnt find a working and updated solution, i have site with more the 50000 photos that is over more the 700 folders. when im trying to upload a folder throw import folder its not upload any photo at all only if its a folder with pictures directly inside, even when i trying to add each folder at time, after 20 folders i need to clean cookies and my firefox get stuck…

    ive worked with many image galleries before and its kinda basic option, the nextgen is great gallery, but i still dont get it how this option and search option dont exist after so many years of working.

    please help, im frustrated.

    @psycasso – We do not have any sort of “bulk upload” option or functionality. Depending on the complexity of your folder structure you may need to upload all of your galleries via FTP and import as needed.

    IF you have having memory issues with your browser/server environment that would be a different issue altogether for the most part.

    i have a folder with 380 folders inside…
    how i can really import it with reasonable way…
    even when i use folder import he dont import a folder with folders inside.. (that i dont know i see as very basic upload way this days, but again its free.. and its working fine but again after so many years no solution to this) and if i want to upload folder by folder the list is endless and its can take ages

    @psycasso – Once your images are uploaded via FTP the import process, although a folder by folder operation, should be very quick.

    i want to see how to upload 700 folders with sub folders benith him when the “import” button is in the end of those 700 folders which means i need to choose folder and then go alot to the end of the page and click import and then again and again

    @psycasso – I do understand how inconvenient it may be due to how you structured your images in folders and sub-folders but unfortunately this is how the plugin’s import function currently works. I am just describing how it can be used as is.

    thanks for the help again, but i think for an old plugin and such a respected as well, you have 2 big lacks, first you dont have search! – tell me it not one of the basic things of plugin..
    and second the upload thing, when creating image gallery lots of the time its contain a lot of images and folders…

    @psycasso – We don’t have search, we are aware of this … and the plugin itself has never had a search functionality although we are looking into this feature.

    How one stores their images on their personal computer is obviously a matter of preference but not everyone works in the same manner. As it is, you can build a folder and sub-folder structure on your site using NextGEN Gallery to mimic what you may have on your computer it simply does not import and recognize that structure of sub-folders at this time.
