Categores and Archives not showing upcorrectly in the sidebar

  • After porting a blog to a different server, the categories and archives are not showing up correctly in the sidebar.

    The categories heading is only showing: uncategorized
    The Archives heading is showing only: June 2011 and there are no entries for June (but it should be showing 8 other months).

    The categories are showing up correctly in the administration side and also as tags on individual posts. It is only the sidebar that isn’t working. The theme is based on the default Twenty Ten, and doesn’t do anything funky with the side-bar.

    Right, I followed these instructions. All the links work, its only the sidebar that isn’t updating properly. Any other ideas as to what can cause this problem.

    I figured out the solution but not the cause of the problem. It wasn’t related to a problem with the port but rather a different server setup.

    The site is integrated with a different Website so it need to pull the pages from a different database. After a different database is selected it causes the sidebar to fail, but it doesn’t cause a problem anywhere else, and it worked on the previous server.

    My solution was a bit of a hack. I returned the sidebar as a variable in the header above the call to the navigation. Then the header was included rather than called with the WordPress function.
