Catalog won’t show in Business-Manager

    Hi,

    I did connect my side with Facebook and when I open the plugin I can choose the catalog and see my products in there. But if I try to find the catalog on my business manager on facebook I have to start from the beginning and nothing is there. I just get the suggestion to connect Facebook and WooCommerce what I already did.

    Also I can not find the catalog on my Instagram Account of course.

    How can I solve this?

  • Hi @kathiklaudel. If I understand correctly, you’re unable to find any catalogs when you go to your Catalog Manager, is that right?

    Can you try reconnecting your WooCommerce store to Facebook in WooCommerce > Facebook? At step “What is Woocommerce Extension V2 allowed to do” make sure all fields are open. Facebook recently updated their settings to toggle “Manage your business” permission to Off by default.

    Hi,

    yes I had that problem but I already solved it. That’s not it. Facebook and Woo Commerce ARE connected BUT still on Facebook I can not find my catalog. On WordPress – on the plugin I can find it. But not on Facebook.

    What could that be?

    Hi @kathiklaudel. Can you please share a screenshot of your settings in WooCommerce > Facebook and what you see when you go to the Catalog Manager in Facebook? You can save the images in your media library and share the URLs with me.

    Also, please share your system report with me. You can find it by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get system report and then click Copy for support to be able to paste it in your reply.

    I′m not sure which settings you mean exactly. When clicking on manage your connection here on wordpress I get this: https://bleib-entspannt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/WooCommerce.png

    So as if no connection would be there and I had to start again.

    Hi @kathiklaudel. Thank you for the screenshots and system status report.

    I noticed that there are some non-ASCII characters in the title of your site. This data gets saved to Facebook in a field called wc_facebook_external_business_id and we will want to change this to see if it allows your connection to Facebook to complete successfully.

    There is a method to change this within the site itself, so let’s start by trying out the steps there to see if it helps:

    1. Go to UR Lhttps://bleib-entspannt.com/wp-admin/options.php
    2. Search for wc_facebook_external_business_id
    3. In the field next to it, change the data in that field to a title for the page without non-ASCII characters
    4. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Save Changes. In some cases, the data may not be saved due to larger databases and / or PHP settings, so after saving this, locate the wc_facebook_external_business_id field again and verify that the changes in place did save.
    5. Once this is done, can you please try to connect to Facebook again and let me know if you then see a catalog in Facebook?

    Although I never ever have changed anything there – so if that’s the problem, everyone should have it or not?

    Hi @kathiklaudel. What is the value that you see in wc_facebook_external_business_id? Try changing it to letters only without any other characters and reconnect to Facebook to see if that helps.

    I did what you said – now the connection doesn’t work anymore at all. I change it back.

    Maybe you understood me wrong – the connection is not the problem. Facebook is as I can not to the catalog via Business Manager. But I can connect from WordPress to Facebook and see that the products are shown in the catalog. The question is – how do I get them to facebook or instagram at least? Do I have to create a shop or something because I thought that’s what the plugin does.

    It seems that I have two different Facebook Catalog Manager – one without product which can be connected to Instagram and the other with my WooCommerce products which I don’t find on Instagram. How can I connect the second to Instagram?

    Hi @kathiklaudel. To start with, we need to delete the empty catalog, which will also remove the link to the shop page as well:

    1. Open up the products catalog once again, and select the empty catalog
    2. Click the Settings option in the left-hand sidebar
    3. At the bottom of the screen, click the Delete button to remove the catalog and shop page link.

    With that done, the shop page will be empty, and the link removed. We can then connect the existing catalog of the plugin to the shop page instead. The easiest way to do that is to run through the setup wizard again which will connect up the shop page and sync products.

    Once you’ve done this, does that help, or do you end up with 2 catalogs again? If you have two catalogs, can you please share a screenshot of them?

    I only ended up with two catalogs because I clicked that blue button down there:

    on instagram – connection via facebook catalog manager because the other catalog won’t show up when I try connection via woocommerce.

    I deleted the catalog already but it’s still shown on Instagram:

    And the deinstalation and install again thing we tried allready.

    Also the catalog with products is shown under “assets” the other isn’t. How can I change that? Maybe that’s the problem!
