Since v4.3.0 the product visibility ist not properly set during product creation.
Can this be checked by the devs?
It seems to only affect simple products, since I could not reproduce the behavior with variable products.

    Expectation:
New simple product is created and details are filled (note: visibility is defaulted to “store and search”). After publishing the product it can be found in the store and search.

    Current behavior:
New product is created with default “store and search” visibility. After publishing the product it cannot be found in the catalog or search.

    Workaround:
Edit product and set visibility to anything else than the default value and publish. After that set the visibility back to “store and search” and publish again. The new product is now visible in the store.

    Hi @qbrt90,

I have not been able to replicate this behavior on a fresh install of WordPress ( Version 5.4.2) + WooCommerce (Version 4.3.0). I followed your steps creating a new product, ensuring the visibility was set as the default Shop and search results.

As soon as I published the product, I opened up the live site in an Incognito window, and found the product using various search terms added to the product title.

Have you tried to replicate the behavior on a fresh install, or is this happening on your live site? If it is the live site, this kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
