There are no “categories” for art in WP Art Store. You can group works of art by medium, form and subject or theme. “Category” is not a taxonomy that is available to art. Subjects can be added the same as Tags on WordPress posts, simply type the subject into the box and hit enter or select an existing Subject from the list of most used by clicking the link.

I can’t speak for your specific theme but all the built-in taxonomies for WP Art Store work the same as normal WordPress taxonomies in terms of creating archives and they can be added to menus the same as any other taxonomy.

Art Form archive example: https://wpartstore.com/form/print/
Medium archive example: https://wpartstore.com/medium/archival-ink-on-acid-free-paper/
Subject archive example: https://wpartstore.com/subject/big-lebowski/

You may need to go into screen options to show the Art Form/Medium/Subject panels in the Menu editor.

Thank you so very much Chris much appreciated.
You have arranged an old woman’s head.

I have created the menus as you described I am using the hatch theme
I can access the image directly but when I try from art form or medium I get the background image of my home page and via hatch getting the placeholder gray box – when I click on the grey box I do see the image with all the info

This is what I can see when I do inspect element

<img width=”220″ height=”150″ class=”archive-thumbnail featured” alt=”Oil Painting” src=”https://127.0.0.1:4001/wordpress/wp-content/themes/hatch/images/archive_image_placeholder.png”>
Any help would be highly appreciated

cheers

Hello Chris

I am still have problem sorry to say.

I have created like you advised and I am still have a problem at the home page is showing so the background image is not as it should be.
I did try another product but this one is so much better. The other product had categories so I could change the background image according to category but here I cannot do that.
Also still having a problem with the placeholder I understand it’s because of the hatch theme but perhaps some knows a workaround

thanks in advance

I apologize that I am not able to respond more promptly. I only have about an hour a week to look at these issues, so I’m afraid I can’t get to every question quickly.

The image placeholder is coming from your theme. I cannot help you there. I would suggest contacting the theme developer or checking to see if there is any documentation for that theme that tells you how to change that. There is nothing in this plugin that would affect any background image on the site, and the path to the image that you listed above specifically points to your Hatch theme images directory.
