I installed the catablog plugin and when I “add new” image/objects I get an error pop up message that says “[object Object]” and then when i click “OK” the bottom bar says “NaN%” and no object/catalog item is created.

What do I need to do to get this thing working?

I am unsure why you are experiencing this problem. The upload feature works great on my test and production servers. A new version of CataBlog was released this morning that will hopefully help illuminate the problem with better flash upload error messages.

Please upgrade and try again, reporting your finding here.

    Thanks.

Same happened to me eventough I have the latest version, I deactivated new one installed old one, the same, went again with the new one.
I made some research and it seems that it has to do with something of the permissions flash uses to contact the server. I thought also it was my browser sometimes Chrome does that but tried Safari and Firefox and the same error pop ups. So I am going to try ftp to upload the images to the catablog directory of images, let see if it works, try that and let us know.

@thenyefactory, I uploaded my image via ftp to the folder Catablog stores /home/content/16/7933516/html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/catablog/originals and then went in dashboard and in Catablog > Options>Systems menu clicked the option Rescan Original Image Folder and voila! there it is. Hope it helps.

    EcoMom,

If you have a spare moment, it would be awesome if you upgrade to CataBlog 1.2.9.6 and try the multiple file upload again. What error is reported in the JavaScript alert box when you try and upload? Maybe you could even copy and paste it here, just for my documentation and understanding of the problem. I would do it myself but have not come across the issue on my servers/browsers.

Okay so I updated the Plugin and now get an Error 404 code but the good news is that “wp-content/uploads/catablog/originals and then went in dashboard and in Catablog > Options>Systems menu clicked the option Rescan Original Image Folder” Works. So the front end user will have issues until this bug is fixed but the content can at least be created through the host!

    THANKs EcoMOM!

    thenyefactory,

Thank you for reporting the error message. I have looked at the code and patched what I think was your problem. My guess, you have WordPress installed in a subdirectory of your main domain, mydomain.com/wp/. The upload script should now work on all WordPress setups. Could you please give CataBlog 1.2.9.7 a test and see if your problems are fixed. Thanks again for being a tester for me.

oh and EcoMom, if you want to test it out too that would be wonderful. I really need to verify it works on as many setups as possible before I move on to more new features.

@zach, it is working. I have installed it. The only thing is that if you have a previous version in that path you have to deactivate it, uninstall it and then add the new version. Instead of just rewritten over it. But it WORKS GREAT! Thank you!

    I Concur with EcoMom!
You all are good at what you do!
    Keep up the good work!

P.S. WP is installed in a “SUB-DIR” on this particular example account so your patch helped too!

    EcoMom,

Nice, I’m glad to hear. I just added a message above to you as well, I should have done that in the beginning.

Was wondering what exactly do you mean by previous version in that path? Are you referring to the installation of the entire plugin? I think the WordPress Plugin Repository is a bit slow sometimes to offer the automatic updates.

Also, if you don’t mind, could you test the multiple file upload in a couple of the browsers you use on a day to day basis? Are you Windows user? If so which version?

Thanks again and thanks for offering support to other CataBlog users! That is truly awesome of you.

Yes it works in Safari, Chrome and Firefox, I am a Leopard Mac user ??
I meant that if you had a version installed and you went straight ahead to plugins>upload zip file, it gives you the error that there is already that directory created, it does not overwrite the folders you have, so here is what I did:

    1) Went into your Catablog site downloaded 1.2.9.7 version
    2) Went to my dashboard >Plugins> add new> install plugins> uploaded the zip file and since I had already catablog produced an error saying that the directory was already created and couldn’t rewrite over it.
    3) So I uninstalled the “older version” and then uploaded the 1.2.9.7 version again and it worked. ??

I am going to mark the thread as resolved for now ??
