Cart upsell doesn’t show
-
Hi!
Cart upsells doesn’t seem to show in the cart? Shouldn’t it show once we enable the option? We are testing this on the regular Woocommerce Blocks cart.

Hello,
Unfortunately, currently, cart upsells do not work with the new WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks.
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Ok, considering that Blocks is now default in new installations of Woocommerce, aren’t you going to fix that?

WooCommerce blocks are made default for new stores a couple of months ago. It does not have enough hooks to implement the same adjustments as the regular cart.
So, you ask if we plan to implement the “cart upsells” for the new cart block, after you have already left a bad review claiming we’re not going to implement that and the whole plugin does not work with the cart block?
The answer is yes. We will find a way to implement it with the new cart; maybe it will look slightly different due to the lack of hooks.
Thanks.
Absolutely not. I left the review after your initial answer!! Check the time ??
You’ve had lots of time to fix this already, and there was no reason to believe this didn’t work when bying the plugin. I’ll happily update my review when it has been fixed. You did not indicate that it would be fixed in your first reply, and the review was posted after your reply to the ticket.
I have update the review though to clarify that it’s the upsell function that doesn’t work, and that it might be fixed. In my initial answer I haven’t said that we don’t have plans to add it ??
Surely, if you had plans to fix it, you would have mentioned it… You came up with that after my review ??
THE one reason to have this plugin is to be able to make people buy more products and increase the order value. A lot of that functionality isn’t there if the cart upsell doesn’t work. It’s quite important.-

Great theory ??
We will add support for upsells (or mark that they are unavailable for the new cart block if it is impossible to implement) as soon as possible.

@leiferikg Could you please provide clarification on what you mean by this? During a recent staging test in WooCommerce 8.6.1 on February 20, 2024, we observed some instances of up-selling in the cart. Would you be able to elaborate on any visual elements that may be missing for a better understanding?
Is that Checkout blocks or the old short code based checkout?
Exactly you are point out is what’s missing. Also tested with CheckoutWC. Doesn’t show there either. There is if course always the chance there is something else going on on our site. But the developer confirmed it shouldn’t work, so we didn’t do any further testing
That’s a great question! Currently, we don’t employ blocks, but there’s flexibility for you to customize until an update rolls out — it’s completely open source. Feel free to adapt it to suit your needs; any skilled developer can assist you. It’s just a matter of working with the source code and implementing a simple injection, maybe.
One thing’s certain: the team puts in tremendous effort to deliver a polished, functional product — I’ve rigorously tested each aspect.
However, the landscape of WP/WC’s core is ever-evolving. To be candid, I personally prefer steering clear of blocks; I’ve disabled all unnecessary features, including tracking bloat. I firmly believe in the ‘less is more’ philosophy for a faster, cleaner site.
Ultimately, the choice hinges on the editing tools you’re comfortable with. Wishing you all the best!
We have now switched to checkoutWC as that provides a far more polished solution than Blocks. Unfortunately Tiered Pricing doesn’t work there either, not that I expected it to since it isn’t a official solution, while blocks actually is.
Have you considered adding support for checkoutWC?We’re not familiar with the “checkoutWC” plugin. None of our users ever asked for this integration, so we never considered it.
If we begin receiving such user requests, we will definitely consider integrating with that plugin.
@leiferikg We found checkoutWC, while it may suit some users, we find the control offered by the UI/UX to be quite restrictive in checkoutWC, reminiscent of the Shopify’s interface. I’m pleased it meets your needs, but personally, I prefer a different approach. I’ve found that using a well-designed theme with standard editing tools provides a better level of control in this regard. All the best…
